I am what's in my purse.....
This morning my daughter asked me for a crochet hook. I told her to look in my purse. I know...odd place...but I thought for sure my bag of crochet hooks was in there. After a few, "Mom, I can't find it" 's, I begrudgingly got up to search through my purse.....yes, it's a black hole!! I ended up dumping everything out.
As I was flinging items out of my purse--a ball of yarn, knitting needles, quilt patterns, gum, allergy meds, and so much more--- I was kind of shocked to find used syringes, lancets, alcohol wipes, multiple bags of fruities etc. I decided to set aside everything in my purse that's diabetes related. Keep in mind, when we travel we always have a "diabetes bag" that we carry with us. So technically these items should not be in my purse.
But......then again.....I'm a mom to a boy who has diabetes.....I shouldn't be surprised.
As I perused the rest of the contents of my purse I realized I am what's in my purse......
So ladies....fess up.....what's in your purse??

Random used test strips, my meter, a sandwich bag that has glucose tabs, band-aids, ointment, my inserter device for my pump and an extra infusion set and reservoir. My glucogon pen and a juice box.
And occasionally there are snacks floating around in there too.
:)
Cara--WOW!! I thought I had a lot of diabetes stuff...you're loaded!
My meter, lancet, 2 different types of new test strips, used test strips, a syringe, M&Ms & smarties. Yikes, there are a lot of used test strips! I should really clean this thing out once in a while.
My, meter, lancets, test strips & a few used test strips to boot!
Extra infusion sets, extra pump batteries, lara bars, smarties, and a few coins in case I need to replace the pump battery - a coin acts as a screwdriver to remove the lid where the battery goes, at least on the minimed.
Just leaving the house with my keys and nothing else, it will never happen!

Donna--Hee hee...I said the same thing as I was pulling everything out of mine!
K2--we are just getting in the habit of not leaving without J.J.'s diabetes bag...we like to take quick trips into town. I have stocked all the vehicles with meters and smarties...but I suppose with the pump coming soon I'll need to add those supplies too!!
I have WAY too much D stuff in my purse to detail each and every thing.
It is a really nice purse though...
:-)
I was going to tell you what is in my purse but after reading what is in everyone else's purse I feel pretty humbled.
Scott...too funny!! You make me laugh!
Dani..isn't it though...we just never know what it's like. I have a big chunk of burden now, but J.J. is the one that has to live with it day in and day out....he'll be the one to deal with it the rest of his life.:(
